City of Hobart contracted VLC to perform custom People Movement Data analysis, covering a 400m walkable catchment of Elizabeth Street in the city centre to inform their Elizabeth Street Vision Plan.

Client requirements

VLC was tasked with using People Movement Data to understand how people access the Elizabeth Street Vision Plan (ESVP) Study Area and how this differs over different combinations of time of year and time of day. Times of day included early morning, daytime, evening and nighttime.

Meanwhile, the times of year that were observed were Dark Mofo, Christmas to New Year’s, the Hobart Christmas Pageant, weekdays (excluding other times of year) and weekends (excluding other times of year).

Outcomes

To help inform the ESVP and deliver the best possible outcome, the VLC team delivered People Movement Data insights in the form of maps, graphs, spreadsheets and a detailed report on our findings.
