The future Ipswich to Springfield public transport (PT) corridor is part of TMR’s long-term vision for the South East Queensland public transport network. The corridor will support high growth in this part of the region.

Client Requirements

VLC has used the South East Queensland Strategic Transport Multi-Modal Model v2.4 (SEQSTM) to undertake demand forecasts that underpin the Preliminary Evaluation (PE) of the corridor.
VLC carried out detailed scenario modelling including LUTI (land use transport interaction) modelling using Spatial, VLC’s integrated land use model.

Outcomes

VLC delivered a locally calibrated version of SEQSTM v2.4 suitable for the assessment of the Ipswich to Springfield PT corridor for the PE. This foundation was used to develop demand forecasts for multiple project options, with and without variable land use scenarios.

Accompanying the demand modelling, VLC provided analysis, interpretation and advice throughout the project, including data for economic appraisal and rail operations. VLC successfully navigated the TMAF gateway process through robust documentation and collaboration with TMR economics and demand modelling experts.
