On 14 May 2013, The Australian Financial Review (AFR) reported online and in print media that VLC was responsible for advising BrisConnections, operators of the failed Airport Link toll road.

As pointed out by VLC, these suggestions were incorrect and misleading.

In its 28 May 2013 publication, the Australian Financial Review acknowledged their error with the following statement:

“The article ‘Traffic figures kept secret (May 14)‘ stated that traffic forecaster Veitch Lister Consulting advised on the failed BrisConnections airport link. This was incorrect. Veitch Lister never provided any advice to BrisConnections. Veitch Lister points out that its own privately released forecasts were considerably lower and more accurate than those on which BrisConnections relied.”
