1 August 2024
We’re thrilled to announce that Cat Liddell has been named the VLC Chris Turvey Memorial Award recipient for 2024.
Cat has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to VLC through her project work and management, collaborative approach and consistent display of what the Chris Turvey Memorial Award represents.
The Chris Turvey Memorial Award – which is named in memory of former VLC team member Chris Turvey – recognises a VLC team member who has displayed outstanding collaboration, commitment, innovation and leadership in the past year.
‘I’m so honoured to receive the Chris Turvey Memorial Award this year and to play a part in keeping Chris’ legacy alive,’ said Cat.

‘I’ve worked at several companies throughout my career, but nothing compares to VLC. The Board, my colleagues, and people like Chris have made this company as amazing as it is today, and I’m so happy to have found my place here.
‘I’m humbled by the recognition of my work at VLC over this past year, which has been incredibly rewarding.’
Cat has enjoyed stepping back into a client-facing role and being a big part of a fast-paced key project.

‘Working with such smart colleagues in this team, and across VLC on other projects and bids has been a privilege.
‘I hope to continue being valuable to you all by doing whatever I can, from a project management and guidance role, to help everyone do their best work.’
Queensland State Director Mark Iliffe believed Cat was a perfect candidate for the award, given her contribution to both the Queensland team and VLC as a whole.
Cat’s 2024 win comes after Venuri Jayatillaka was awarded the honour in 2023.
